“How many times have you heard that you can’t do this and you can’t do that and it’s never been done before? I love it when someone says that no one has ever done this before, because then when I do it that means that I’m the first one that has done it. So pay no attention to the people that say it can’t be done. I never listen to, “You can’t.” (Applause) I always listen to myself and say, “Yes, you can.” -Arnold Shcwarzenegger
“Rejection is an invitation to keep going.  As everyone knows, you can accept or reject it” -Joe Gebbia and Brian Chesky, Air B&B owners
“Rejection should make you come back stronger than ever. Rejection should fuel your PASSION, it should make you wiser, more powerful, and MORE HUNGRIER THAN YOU EVER BEEN BEFORE IN YOUR LIFE!”  -Eric Thomas
Rejection happens.  It’s a part of life.  I have been rejection thousands of times.  I have been rejected by customers, potential dates, friends, and jobs.  Rejection stings no matter the source.  It hurts when someone or something doesn’t give you what you ask for- be it time, help, money, or attention.  It’s especially frustrating when you ask with good intentions.  You work for something so much and do your best to make it happen.  You step out of your comfort zone and make yourself vulnerable.  Even though you try, it still hurts.  Some kinds of rejection that can happen through a lifestyle change can include:
-your trainer rejecting when you ask to skip a workout
-your friend rejecting your ask for dessert
-coworkers rejecting your idea of a walking meeting
-your signifiant other rejects your choice to change your lifestyle
However, I have learned that rejection does not have to suck.  A new perspective has helped me get over and through rejection.  I now see it as an invitation.  You see, we have to pass through rejection to get anything that is truly valuable.  Asking for a “yes” always runs the risk of getting a “no”.  Your girlfriend can turn down your wedding proposal.  Your customer can turn down your sales proposal.  Your friends can reject your idea for a fun weekend away.  Your boss can turn down your work proposal.   Instead of hating rejection, use it to your advantage.  Use it as a learning experience.  Reflect on how the exchange/ process occurred.  Determine what went wrong.  Then, try again only smarter this time.  Also, let rejection motivate you.  Let the experience make you stronger and give you more resolve to reach your goals.  Every time you get a “no”, you move closer to a yes!  As Always, Eat, Move, and Improve!
